This year’s rematch between the New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers may look very different from the barn burner fans witnessed in 2019.
None of the 49ers’ biggest playmakers are returning: wide receiver Deebo Samuel, running backs Raheem Mostert and Tevin Coleman, tight end George Kittle, and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo have all been sidelined by injuries. Their leading receiver in that game, Emmanuel Sanders, is now playing for New Orleans.
The Saints are highly favored to win this one, but you never know. Nothing is certain in the NFL and we’ve seen them make stars out of backup passers before (remember Carolina Panthers backup Kyle Allen playing the game of his life at the end of 2018?
