Forwards Marcus Johansson and Kyle Palmieri were both absent from Devils practice on Monday at the Prudential Center in Newark.
Palmieri, who broke his right foot on Nov. 20, has been skating on his own since last week, but is not ready to resume full practice. He skated on his own prior to Monday's practice.
Johansson's absence was more surprising, and the Devils did not provide an immediate update on his status. Coach John Hynes should have more information following practice.
The veteran winger blocked a shot in the second period of Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Rangers.
