Forward Jimmy Hayes, who is attending Devils camp on a PTO, got the chance to play in his second straight preseason game on Wednesday. After being plagued by penalties in a strictly-called game on Monday, coach John Hynes wanted to give Hayes another chance quickly, and Hayes responded. He finished with one goal and one assist with a plus-one rating while staying out of the box.
"I was a little more relaxed," Hayes said. "You get a game under your belt, and kind of know the system, you get a couple extra days to learn it, practice it.
