The New England Patriots are signing cornerback Michael Jackson to the practice squad, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
New England traded for Jackson this offseason in a deal that sent TK to the Detroit Lions. He had a solid training camp, but couldn’t earn a spot on the 53-man roster, particularly after suffering a hamstring injury. But the Patriots signed him back to their practice squad on Monday, where he’ll join a deep group of cornerbacks which includes Stephon Gilmore, J.C. Jackson, Jason McCourty, Jonathan Jones and Joejuan Williams.
