Among a number of things that went wrong with the New England Patriots under Jerod Mayo during the 2024 season was the apparent urge to replace nearly every reminder of the Bill Belichick era by the new coaching staff, which came back to bite them by season's end. While establishing a new culture is important, the Mayo regime tried too hard and lost the roster along the way.
That included the almost weekly reveals of a new catchphrase, whether it was plastered on the stadium walls or donned on a new t-shirt the players wore at practice: it nearly became a laughing matter amongst fans, as most of the new phrases couldn't top the ones of old.
