Boston College star, NH native Hunter Long drafted by Dolphins

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. —

A star player from Boston College and New Hampshire native is now an NFL draft pick, but he was chosen by one of the New England Patriots' division rivals.

Hunter Long, of Exeter, was drafted by the Miami Dolphins with the 81st overall pick in the third round of the 2021 draft Friday night.

The 22-year-old finished his collegiate career with 89 receptions for 1,297 yards and nine touchdowns in 36 games across three seasons.

As a redshirt junior in 2020, Long led all tight ends nationally with 57 catches and ranked second in the country with 685 receiving yards.
