Just like that, another Nebraska regular season is in the books, and it may go down as one of the most overhyped seasons in years. Many hoped that the third year under head coach Matt Rhule would result in the Cornhuskers taking that big step forward and really becoming contenders in the Big Ten, or at least contending for a College Football Playoff spot.
Instead, the Cornhuskers are finishing 7-5 in the regular season and will now await a bowl game appearance that will most likely come in a few weeks. Nebraska fell to Iowa for the third year in a row, this time not by the score of 13-10, but by a larger margin of 40-16.
