The decision to send Victor Mete to play for Canada was a long-time coming. Even though he surprised many with his development and abilities that allowed him to make the Montreal Canadiens out of camp, the way he has been used lately hasn’t worked to his benefit.
Mete started the season playing on the top-pair with Shea Weber seeing close to 19 minutes a night. After the Habs lost to the Los Angeles Kings on the road, Claude Julien adjusted his minutes drastically. Mete mostly saw time on the bottom pair and would sometimes play less than 10 minutes.
