Khamzat Chimaev apparently had no interest in exchanging pleasantries with Ian Garry.
Chimaev was present at UFC Qatar to help corner Arman Tsarukyan, who submitted Dan Hooker with a second-round arm-triangle choke in the evening’s lightweight headliner. The middleweight champion later crossed paths backstage with Ian Garry, who earned a decision triumph over Belal Muhammad in the welterweight co-main event.
It appeared that the Irishman was simply interested in being friendly, as he told security personnel, “He’s not gonna fight me.” However, Chimaev seemed to take exception to that statement and shoved Garry shortly thereafter.
