Glory champ Alex Pereira test positive for COVID-19, still helping Glover Teixeira prepare for Thiago Santos

Glover Teixeira’s UFC fight with Thiago Santos was pushed back three weeks after Teixeira tested positive for COVID-19, but he managed to find a way to continue training during quarantine.

Speaking with MMA Fighting on Thursday morning, Teixeira revealed that the two-division Glory champion Alex Pereira, his main training partner in this camp, also tested positive for the virus, so they decided to quarantine together in his house and continue to train for the fight, that was just moved from Sept. 12 to Oct. 3.

Pereira is the Glory middleweight and light heavyweight titleholder and is interested in a possible transition to MMA in the future.
