When Daniel Cormier was reinstated as the UFC light heavyweight champion, he has penciled in Volkan Oezdemir to be his first challenger. But those plans have suddenly become uncertain after Oezdemir was recently arrested in Florida for aggravated battery charges stemming from a barroom altercation in August.
Given that these circumstances are beyond his control, DC is now looking forward to whoever is next in line.
“Of course, I’d fight any of these guys. It doesn’t matter,” Cormier said on The Anik & Florian podcast (transcript via MMA Fighting).
