Michael Porter Jr. was the NBA’s best rookie last week

Michael Porter Jr. missed all of his first year in the NBA with back problems. That was something Mizzou Tigers fans were used to hearing about after he spent most of his only year at Mizzou sidelined with the same injury.

But this past week, Denver Nuggets fans got to see what Tigers fan were hoping to see two years ago. For that, Porter Jr. was rated as the No. 1 rookie in this week’s CBS Sports NBA Rookie Power Rankings released Friday.

Porter averaged 15.5 points per game with 4.5 rebonds, including a career-high 25 points against the Indiana Pacers on Thursday.
