Dru Smith rediscovers touch, breaks out of slump for Mizzou

COLUMBIA, Mo. — It took an extended layoff and some poignant coaching points for Missouri to rediscover Dru Smith. The fifth-year senior guard had slipped into a slump marked by fouls and turnovers, and as the floor leader struggled, so did his team.

Then came Saturday.

Smith played a team-high 37 minutes in the Tigers’ 68-52 win at Texas A&M, led MU with 15 points and provided a vintage Dru Smith loaded box score, adding six rebounds, six assists, four steals and just one turnover.

Senior center Jeremiah Tilmon scored the headlines with his double-double, and sophomore forward Kobe Brown earned Cuonzo Martin’s praise for his rugged play in the frontcourt.
