One of the most persistent rumors of the first two days of this draft weekend has been that the Minnesota Vikings were ready, willing, and able to swing a trade for disgruntled Washington Redskins offensive tackle Trent Williams. Those discussions seemed to have been put to bed with the Vikings’ selection of Boise State offensive tackle Ezra Cleveland in the second round on Friday night, and now conflicting stories are coming out as to who is responsible for the trade not happening.
The Redskins were, reportedly, seeking a second-round pick in exchange for Williams, a seven-time Pro Bowler who sat out all of last season in a dispute with management.
