The Minnesota Vikings new house opened for official business in September 2016. The price tag was over one billion dollars, but its atmosphere was an upgrade in elegance for fans–and newfound hardships for visiting teams.
That’s not just rosy rhetoric. Since U.S. Bank Stadium opened, the Vikings have been the second-best home team in the NFL. Their 24-9 (.727) win-loss record is only topped by the New England Patriots since 2016 who boast a 31-7 (.816) home record.
In its four-year history, the Vikings have finished the season with a winning home record in every campaign. The “worst” output was a 5-3 win-loss record at home in 2016 and 2018.
