The Minnesota Timberwolves’ new president of basketball operations has been popular in the media throughout the offseason, and it’s continued into September.

This week, Gersson Rosas received the La Familia Latino Heritage Award. It’s an award given to leaders in a variety of industries who promote, support and contribute to the community both in Minnesota and nationally.

Rosas has been making waves as an overqualified first-time leader of a front office in the NBA; 17 years spent as second-fiddle to Daryl Morey in Houston was more than enough. Rosas is ready for his moment, and folks have taken notice.
