Breaking down the Timberwolves' salary cap situation

The NBA salary cap will reportedly be $109 million next season. While teams can exceed that number, in doing so they have to pay a tax. Given that projected cap figure and players already under contract for next season — not to mention those not under contract, including restricted free agent Tyus Jones — it’s easy to see how important it will be for the Timberwolves to round out their roster with inexpensive talent. Here’s a look at Wolves players on guaranteed contracts and their salaries in 2019-20:

Andrew Wiggins $27.5 million

Karl-Anthony Towns* $27.3 million

Gorgui Dieng $16.
