After one quarter, the game was well on it’s way to being another no-doubter, as the Milwaukee Bucks built a comfortable 38-27 lead. The Bucks were scoring at will and the Pistons were once again missing shots.
The script was quickly flipped in the second quarter, though, as the Detroit Pistons went +12, and promptly held a halftime lead of 59-58. This change was thanks in large part to the Game 2 strategy adjustment of hoisting up threes led by Luke Kennard, and buoying it with the two man game of Reggie Jackson and Andre Drummond running delayed pick and rolls.
