Stewarts Creek junior pitcher Maddox Vondohlen was dominant from the outset, while Blackman lefty Spencer Brooks had one hiccup in the first inning.
In essence, that was the difference in Stewarts Creek defeating the Blaze 3-0 in the second round of the District 7-AAA tournament at Siegel last Friday night.
Vondoholen allowed just one two-out hit in the first inning and only one walk as the Red Hawks advanced to the winner's bracket finals where they'll face top-seeded Siegel on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
"Just throw strikes and let them hit it," Vondohlen said. "I wouldn't want anyone else back there behind me.
