Stewarts Creek's softball team continues to make school history in the opening round of the Class AAA state tournament Tuesday, appearing in and winning the team's first ever Spring Fling game with a 2-0 victory over Brighton 2-0.
"It's a huge deal for Stewarts Creek, both with the baseball and softball programs," said Red Hawks' coach Tory Atwood. "To get here in our third year and now win a game and hopefully continue on is just super exciting.
"I can't lie, though. I think it adds a little pressure," continued Atwood. "We are playing a great team in Dickson County (Wednesday) and I think everyone is looking at us and saying 'wait aren't they just a three year old school?
