MURFREESBORO - What has been called one of the biggest upsets in college basketball history has landed Middle Tennessee the first ESPY nomination in school history and the first team nomination in Tennessee collegiate athletics.
For a few days in March the Blue Raiders were the talk of the nation after leading all 40 minutes against the No. 2-seed Spartans, who were a 16.5-point favorite going into the game.
Now that the smoke has settled some since the game, the impact it and the ESPY nomination have had on the program as a whole has been noticeable.
