ANN ARBOR -- Michigan says its red-zone struggles on Saturday were accentuated by surprise.
The Wolverines were caught off guard by blitz packages Air Force deployed, often at the very last second. That left little time for the offensive line to react.
As a result, Michigan stalled on four separate drives and had to send in field-goal kicker Quinn Nordin each time.
"We just really got to focus on finishing those drives," offensive lineman Mason Cole said. "If we score a touchdown on all those red-zone trips during the game, it's a different score."
He's not wrong.
