When the news broke Wednesday that O’Maury Samuels was being dismissed from the Michigan football team, the first question was why?
Well, shortly after the news broke, we found out why, as Angelique Chengelis of the Detroit News reported that Samuels was in court Wednesday morning facing charges of domestic violence and malicious destruction of property.
These situations are always hard, but the University of Michigan and the Michigan football program acted exactly how you would expect them to in this situation. There should be no leniency when it comes to domestic violence and by dismissing Samuels, a four-star running back from 2017, Michigan sends a message of zero tolerance.
