The Michigan team that handed Michigan State a victory on Saturday is not a top-25 team. It has a top-10 defense, sure, but five turnovers in a rivalry game is unbearably disappointing. Dumb penalties happen, and even the best receivers drop a pass, but since there’s only one ball in play at a time, it seems foolhardy to give it up again and again.
There is so much to fix before Michigan comes up against a well oiled Penn State defense, a Wisconsin team that has not had to battle in the trenches, and an Ohio State team with a lot to prove.
