Michigan basketball's start too hot for Wisconsin in 83-72 road win

MADISON, Wis. – A spirited second-half surge by Wisconsin on its home floor was not enough to overcome a dominant first half by Michigan on Sunday.

The Wolverines’ hot shooting opened up a 22-point lead at halftime, and U-M never let the Badgers closer than eight points in the second half en route to an 83-72 victory.

Moritz Wagner had 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead four Wolverines in double figures. Duncan Robinson scored 16, Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman had 15 and Charles Matthews added 11.

Ethan Happ scored a season-high 29 points to lead Wisconsin, which is now guaranteed its first losing Big Ten season since 1997-98.
