Ex-Michigan basketball's Moe Wagner is NBA leader in shooting efficiency

Michigan Wolverines basketball coach Juwan Howard speaks to the media on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019, in Ann Arbor. Orion Sang, Detroit Free Press

"Moe freaking Wagner leads the entire NBA in true shooting percentage."

That is not a sentence I ever expected to hear.

But that sentence is the truth, and appeared in Zach Lowe's "Ten NBA things I like and don't like" column Friday on espn.com.

Wagner, who helped Michigan basketball get to the national championship game in 2018, is in his first season with the Washington Wizards.

One year after being drafted 25th overall in 2018, Wagner was traded from the Los Angeles Lakers last summer to help make salary cap space for Anthony Davis.
