Michigan State notes: Mark Dantonio thinks bye week might 'disrupt what we have going'

EAST LANSING – Michigan State doesn’t play again for almost two weeks. Mark Dantonio called his team’s 2-0 start “the only thing that's important now.”

But the 11th-year coach also is unsure what to think about how the early bye week will affect his young Spartans’ preparation for Notre Dame (8 p.m. Sept. 23, Fox).

“Does it help or not?” Dantonio asked. “Maybe you get a head start on them, but maybe you disrupt what we have going. There's a little bit of both ends of that spectrum I think. We'll just take advantage of whatever time we have, whichever way it goes, and we'll be ready to play.
