Michigan State has reportedly hired Pat Fitzgerald as Jonathan Smith’s replacement

J Batt has reportedly wasted zero time in finding Jonathan Smith’s replacement at Michigan State. The first-year athletic director was hired to get the athletic department turned around, starting with the football program, and he’s made his first big decision.

Well, his first major decision was to fire second-year head coach on Sunday afternoon, but he’s quickly followed that up with a replacement for Smith, according to reports.

In fact, according to the Detroit Free Press, Michigan State has already made the move to hire Fitzgerald to replace Smith just hours after making the call to fire the second-year coach.
