The excitement level is sky-high in East Lansing heading into the 2019 season. Michigan State may be coming off a 7-6 campaign that fell drastically short of expectations, but the Spartans are hungry to turn things around and Mark Dantonio is known for breaking out a big season after a disappointing one.
In fact, every time Dantonio has won seven or less games in a season, he’s followed it up with breakout years. In 2009, he won six games and the next year, the Spartans were contending for a Big Ten title and playing Alabama in a bowl game.
