The 2020 Michigan State football season will take place this fall after another vote. Why should we get excited about the upcoming campaign?
When the Big Ten presidents voted to postpone the 2020 season, Michigan State football players, coaches and fans were devastated. It seemed like the right move at the time, putting the student athletes’ health and safety first, assuming the rest of the Power Five would follow suit.
It didn’t.
On Wednesday, the conference voted to bring back football this fall with the presidents reversing their decisions from the summer’s vote and a lot had to do with the ability to rapidly test and ensure that these kids will be safe throughout the process.
