For the first time since 2010, the Charlotte Hornets are Kemba Walker-less. The free agent point guard signed with the Celtics and the Hornets settled for Boston’s Terry Rozier on a pricey contract.
But with the departure of Walker comes elevated expectations for some of Charlotte’s younger players, headlined by 2018 lottery pick Miles Bridges.
The former Spartan had a decent rookie campaign, averaging 7.5 points and 4.0 rebounds while shooting 46 percent from the field. He also participated in the NBA Dunk Contest, but didn’t quite have enough tricks up his sleeve to win the showdown on All-Star Weekend.
