Michigan State Basketball: 3 bold predictions for Big Ten opener vs. Rutgers

Not off to the most ideal start after opening the season as the No. 1 team in the country, Michigan State gets a chance to right the ship on Sunday night against Rutgers.

The Scarlet Knights may not be the most elite competition in the Big Ten, but they did give the Spartans quite the test at the Breslin Center a year ago. In fact, it took a second-half surge to fight past the Scarlet Knights, led by a huge 3-pointer by Matt McQuaid and subsequent fist pump by Tom Izzo.

There are many question marks for the Spartans heading into this one, but they should handle business against the 6-2 Scarlet Knights.
