Michigan State football is starting a new era with a somewhat familiar face at the helm.
Mel Tucker, who resigned as Colorado head coach on Wednesday to take his new job, started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at MSU. It came after a career as a defensive back at Wisconsin.
Safe to assume that Tucker had close relationship with the Spartans defensive backs in 1997-98.
