EAST LANSING - Former Michigan State All-American wide receiver Kirk Gibson will be honored during the Spartans' game against Notre Dame on Saturday night.
Gibson will have his name and No. 23 added to the Spartan Stadium "Ring of Fame" during a ceremony and he will serve as an honorary captain for the game (8 p.m., FOX) in East Lansing.
"It will be great to have him involved with our football team in that regard," Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio said.
Gibson, a two-sport star at Michigan State who went on to a successful professional baseball career, was voted into the College Football Hall of Fame and will be inducted on Dec.
