Jaren Jackson Jr. Selected #4 overall by the Memphis Grizzlies

It didn’t take long for Jaren Jackson Jr. to hear his name called Thursday evening at the NBA Draft. The one-and-done Michigan State Spartans star was selected by the Memphis Grizzlies with the #4 pick in the first round.

Jackson became the first MSU basketball player drafted in the top five picks of the draft since 2001 when Jason Richardson was selected by the Golden State Warriors and the highest draft pick since Magic Johnson and Greg Kelser went 1 and 4, respectively, in the 1979 draft.

Jackson will join fellow former-Spartan big man Deyonta Davis on the Grizzlies.
