Former Michigan State star Miles Bridges picked 12th in NBA draft, reportedly headed to Charlotte

He waited a year longer than most expected, but Miles Bridges can now call himself an NBA lottery pick.

The former Michigan State star and Flint native was picked No. 12 overall by the Los Angeles Clippers and immediately traded to the Charlotte Hornets, according to ESPN, in Thursday's NBA draft in New York.

The selection comes after two standout seasons in East Lansing, when Bridges established himself as an explosive, high-flying superstar and the face of a Spartans team that won the 2018 Big Ten title outright.

He was first-team All-Big Ten and a consensus second-team All-American as a sophomore, as he averaged 17.
