College football’s kickoff weekend was not without surprises. From the Iowa State Cyclones’ loss to the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns to the Notre Dame Irish’s unimpressive win over the Duke Blue Devils, there was plenty of intrigue in week 1. There was also the 16-13 loss the Florida State Seminoles suffered at the hands of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Neither team was in the AP Top 25 but, we just love to mention disgraces over here.
With one week of full action in the books, the likes of theOhio State Buckeyes (2), Penn State Nittany Lions (7), Oregon Ducks (9), Wisconsin Badgers (12), Michigan Wolverines (16), USC Trojans (17), Minnesota Golden Gophers (19), Utah Utes (22), and Iowa Hawkeyes (24) have dropped out of the rankings due to their conference’s opting-out.
