Jackson is part of a stellar Miami Hurricanes secondary. Safety Jaquan Johnson is on three award watch lists. He was named to the Bednarik Trophy honoring the nation’s best defensive player in addition to also being on the Thorpe and Nagurski lists. The third returning starter in the Miami secondary is safety, Sheldrick Redwine.
The starting cornerback opposite Jackson will be decided in training camp. It will likely come down to Sophomore Trajan Bandy who was a nickel back last season or Senior Jhavonte Dean.
