Clemson is the only ACC team ranked ahead of the Hurricanes and the favorite for the title at 11-5.
Entering its seventh year of existence, Miami has gotten close to the College Football Playoff only once. The Hurricanes began the 2017 season 10-0 before dealing with injuries in an upset loss at Pittsburgh in the final regular-season game and a blowout defeat to Clemson in the ACC Championship game ended their dream.
