With all of the uncertainty surrounding Miami Hurricanes coach Manny Diaz’s future, it would be easy — or at least understandable — for Diaz to become less motivated.
Former athletic director Blake James’ departure from UM last week intensified the speculation about the job security of Diaz, whose status for 2022 was already uncertain before James’ exit after a disappointing 2-4 start to this season.
The Hurricanes (6-5, 4-3 ACC) have bounced back from their slow start, winning four of their past five games, including a 38-26 victory over Virginia Tech last Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium to make them bowl-eligible for the ninth consecutive season.
