Heat rally falls short in 128-124 loss to Nets, Bam scores career-high 41

Bam Adebayo scored a career-high 41 points for the Miami Heat tonight but it wasn’t enough down the stretch in a 128-124 loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday night.

Despite never holding a lead in this game — and without Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro, Avery Bradley, Meyers Leonard and Maurice Harkless (who left the game after injuring his thigh in the first half) — the Heat had a golden opportunity to tie the game with seven seconds left after a rare Kyrie Irving missed free throw but nobody signaled for a timeout to advance the ball and set up a play.
