Gase has had effective touch with quarterbacks

The man behind the only 600-point season in NFL history has been hired as head coach of the Miami Dolphins, who scored barely half that in 2015.

Adam Gase, who spent 2015 as the Chicago Bears’ offensive coordinator after guiding the Denver Broncos’ offense in 2013 and 2014, has shown the ability to improve the play of quarterbacks in his past two NFL coaching stops. Now he will try to further the development of Ryan Tannehill, who less than a year ago signed a six-year contract extension that included $45 million in guaranteed money.
