TAMPA, Fla. – A late-inning rally fell short Saturday afternoon as the University of Memphis softball team dropped game two of a three-game series to USF by a score of 5-3. The setback moves Memphis to 22-28 overall and 3-13 in American Athletic Conference play.
Memphis saw itself in a five-run deficit after giving up two runs in the first and three runs in the fourth to USF. Four straight hits in the top of the sixth inning, including a bases-clearing double by senior , cut that deficit to two to put pressure on USF.
