Maryland football QB Max Bortenschlager enters transfer portal

Maryland quarterback Max Bortenschlager has entered the transfer portal, he announced on Twitter.

“Today I entered the transfer portal as a graduate transfer with two years of eligibility remaining,” Bortenschlager wrote. “I am extremely thankful for the opportunity given to me to attend a school like the University of Maryland and play football in the Big Ten; it truly was a dream come true.”

Bortenschlager joined the Terps as a member of the 2016 recruiting class that included the likes of Tino Ellis, DJ Turner and Tyrrell Pigrome.

In his time in College Park, Bortenschlager participated in 19 games and completed 52 percent of his passes for 1522 yards and 11 touchdowns.
