Tottenham Hotspur are open to selling Toby Alderweireld this summer as contract talks have broken down between club and player.
Alderweireld, the Belgium defender, is, according to The Times, demanding a £150,000-a-week wage if he is to pen a new deal, but Spurs are unwilling to raise their highest offer of £110,000-a-week to a player who turns 29 in the coming days.
Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino is said to back the decision as he wants to improve his squad, rather than break the north Londoners' rigid wage structure to benefit a lone player.
