Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly says the Fighting Irish must boldly venture where few dare to tread – into one-on-one battles on the perimeter with LSU’s secondary.
Kelly said Notre Dame must be willing to take on LSU’s strong secondary in the passing game, part of his Wednesday news conference following the team’s arrival in Orlando for the Citrus Bowl.
“Look, they’re going to play man-to-man coverage and we know we’re going to have to win some matchups on the outside,” Kelly said. “You’re not going to be able to go down the field (in the running game) with chunk plays.
