The first quarter of this game was fairly respectable. Both teams were missing some easy shots. The Cards headed into the second quarter with a meager 15-11 lead. From that point it was debatable which was the bigger competition of the evening: the basketball game or who would leave the Yum with a Jeff Walz bobblehead.

In front of UVa coach and basketball legend Tina Thompson, Louisville went on a scoring rampage in the second quarter. At the five minute mark the score was 30-17 and by halftime the lead had grown to 46-20. The Cavaliers would not challenge the Cards from that point forward.
