MOBILE, Ala. – 12 runs scored in the first three innings by South Alabama (16-8, 3-3 Sun Belt) led to a 16-4 loss taken by ULM baseball (14-11, 4-2 Sun Belt) Sunday afternoon.
ULM struck first at the top of the first inning to take the early lead. A walk and single put both of them on base before a fly out advanced Mauzy to third. Dean stole second as Mauzy scored on the double steal. After a throwing error put Dean at third, a fly out scored the runner, resulting in a 2-0 score.
The Jaguars responded with an offensive explosion at the bottom of the first.
