Rams, Blake Bortles recognized for having solid backup quarterback situation

Early on in the offseason, it was pretty clear the Los Angeles Rams were going to move on from Sean Mannion, which turned out to be exactly the case, as the team decided to sign Blake Bortles to a one-year deal to become the new backup quarterback.

Even though there are no reasons for concern surrounding Jared Goff staying healthy, the NFL has seen too many teams suffer over the years when their starting quarterback goes down, and the backup turns out to be unreliable.

Things may not have worked out for the best with Bortles over the last five years with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but hopefully a fresh start on a new team in Los Angeles helps the former first-round pick turn his career around.
