JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jaguars coach Doug Marrone said he cut kicker Jason Myers simply because he wanted more consistency out of the position.
Though Myers made 11 of his 15 field-goal attempts this season, he was 0-for-3 on attempts longer than 50 yards and missed two PATs. He missed two 54-yard field goal attempts in last Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Rams at EverBank Field.
"He had a lot of talent, Jason Myers, and it just hasn’t been consistent," Marrone said Wednesday morning. "We’re just trying to get ourselves better and I told him keep going and keep working.
